North Korea has adopted a new nuclear policy allowing an automatic nuclear strike if leader Kim Jong Un is assassinated or if the country’s command system is threatened. The move reportedly came after Pyongyang closely studied recent US-Israel operations targeting top Iranian leaders.
Under the revised law, North Korea’s nuclear retaliation may now launch immediately without direct orders if the leadership is incapacitated during an attack. Experts warn the policy could dangerously lower the threshold for nuclear war and increase the risk of catastrophic miscalculation during a conflict.
At the same time, North Korea is reportedly preparing to deploy new long-range artillery systems near the South Korean border, potentially placing Seoul within striking range. As tensions escalate, fears are growing over the possibility of a sudden nuclear confrontation in East Asia.
